CustomInk is the custom t-shirt ecommerce company for groups, teams, events and businesses. According to its website the company has printed over 15 million t-shirts.

Each year hundreds of thousands of people design and order t-shirts for the special times in their life at CustomInk.com. Shirts can be designed in the design lab or by its artists. Unlike other t-shirt printing places, CustomInk uses traditional craft screen printing for the bulk of its shirts. Internet Retailer ranks CustomInk among its largest 200 ecommerce companies by revenue ($60MM in 2008.) The company, based outside of Washington DC in McLean, VA, is also a 3-time Washington Magazine Great Place to Work. In 2010, CustomInk LLC was awarded the Northern Virgina Technology Councils’ “Hottest Bootstrap Company.”

In its early days, the company took the unusual step of displaying Uncensored Customer Reviews on its homepage (See WSJ). While today many retailers now show product reviews, it’s still virtually unheard of today for a company to feature reviews about the company and its ability to print and deliver shirts to its customers.

CustomInk was founded and bootstrapped by Marc Katz and two other Harvard grads in 2000.
