iPhone app premiered at SXSW Interactive in March 2011 where Filmaster took part in the AppCircus competition for world’s best mobile apps. Current website beta is also available at http://filmaster.com

During the beta period, almost 10,000 users have registered, leaving over 20,000 reviews and rating 1,000,000 (one million) films.

Filmaster founders are:

• Jakub is the tech leach. He’s a maths and computer science student on Warsaw University and a winner of math and programming olympiads. He designed and implemented the recommendation engine and is responsible for the algorithms.
• Pawel is the product manager, a CSS god and usability expert. Before joining Filmaster he worked as Unit Leader Front-End for F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd.
• Borys is the CEO of Filmaster. Worked in IT since 2002, most recently as a consultant for Deutsche Bank in London. Owner of OSnews.pl, a successful (profitable in a month after release) citizen journalism startup. Filmaster is his second venture.

Current achievements include:

• Partnership with over 10 movie festivals and 8 cinemas in Poland
• Partnership with Polish leading cinema magazine, KINO
• Second place on Democamp East/West (Eastern european startup competition event in Poznan, Poland) with the internet app (http://filmaster.com).
• Qualified to StartupFest as one of the top 20 Polish startups in October 2010 with Filmaster Mobile (a product still in progress)
• Presented on stage as part of the AppCircus contest for world best mobile apps at SXSW Interactive in Austin, Texas on March 14th, 2011
